On a recent morning at Tabasco, students got a special greeting from some spirited guests: the La Joya High School Softball Team.The team members awaited Tabasco students as they arrived at the bus drop-off. The students got to enter through a door surrounded by the players, and the players high-fived the students as they passed through. As the students traveled through, you could see the smiles on their faces and the spring in their step.At the pick-up area, students were greeted not just with high-fives, but with an arch tunnel made of linked softball player limbs. Students got out of their cars and experienced a rush of positivity as they set to begin their day.After the pick-up area greetings, the softball team converged on the Tabasco Elementary gym to share some time with the fifth-graders.The team sought to engage the fifth-graders with some discussion and also in other activities.
