The Tabasco Elementary Flag Football team played in a recent tournament on April 12. The team, led by coach E. Hernandez, was made up of students from third through fifth grades.
In the tournament, the team opened up with their first game against Sam Fordyce Elementary. Tabasco took the victory, leading to them advancing to the next round of the tournament.
In their second game, the competition heated up and the players were faced with an even greater challenge. They encountered the team from Peña Elementary, who brought their “A” game. Tabasco ended up taking the loss against the Peña team, finding them needing to regroup after the loss.
The team still had a chance to place, but they needed to focus their energy on not giving up their intensity.
The next team they had to face was Benavides Elementary. It was another game of stiff competition, but Tabasco came out on top.
In the end, the third through fifth grade team earned a third-place ranking in the tournament. Thank you to the team for representing Tabasco Elementary with pride and success!
